Class description: Learn to create big, bold watercolor style designs using conventional faux finishing products in unconventional ways. Serene vibes, eye-catching botanicals and a fresh take on beachy washes can be created on walls or canvas giving you a broad range of options for your clients and designers. If you are contemplating a transition from working on walls or want to add new artistic outlets to your portfolio, these finishes are designed to be used on multiple substrates. In class we’ll complete 5 samples and I’ll share alternate colorways for the finishes that you can create at home.

-Learn to manipulate well-known decorative finishing products to create bold watercolor looks.
-Add samples to your portfolio that will appeal to clients and designers looking for a custom handpainted botanical inspired wallpaper style
-Receive recipes, tips and alternate colorways for the designs that you can complete at home.

Michelle Bergman

Michelle is a decorative painter, artist and teacher. She’s been a lifetime lover of all things creative. When asked how she got started in the arts, the answer includes a story of encouragement from her dad, a career in graphic design then a refocus to a hands-on career in the arts that better worked with her family’s schedule. Nearly 25 years into it, she’s painted everything from walls to cabinets and furniture to murals and art on canvas and glass.

Behind the scenes, Michelle devotes a substantial amount of time to developing new finishes and studying with accomplished artisans from all over the country to keep up with the latest trends, expanding her practice of creativity, and feeding her creative soul. Her passion to help others find ways to express their creativity is a huge focus in 2023.
